Even though I posted a Valentine’s Day look (which you can check out HERE), I had time yesterday for y’all!!
I was actually doing an upcoming lip swatch video and decided to extend the look to my blog.
Which lip color do you prefer?
Whether you’re in a relationship or not for Valentine’s Day , treat yo self!!
So here we are, beginning another month for 2018 already; chapter 2 of 12! I hope January was good to you. I can’t say that it was to me but that’s something I will divulge maybe later when my spirits are up to it.
I got a chance to play in makeup today, something I plan to do more often to tackle all these latest trends I’ve been spying on IG makeup pages. I actually made time to take pics of my handiwork lol.
So February is the month for the lover in you for Valentine’s Day so I wanted to create a look this year. I’ll probably be doing a few V-Day looks, I kinda dig this traditional sweetheart day!!
Check me out

If you’re from the Chi there’s only a small number of excuses I’ll accept explaining why you don’t know about Sweetest Day!!
To be fair, if my man wasn’t from Chicago I probably wouldn’t have known either lol. So yeah he schooled me about the whole “Valentine’s Day for men” ordeal. Since he moved thousands of miles here to Florida for the sake of our relationship I do try to oblige his “special occasion”. Now that I think of it, then I don’t need to get him a Valentine’s Day gift right?!
Here’s my Sweetest Day look, I used Juvia’s place “The Magic” & “Sahara” palette for this look.
I couldn’t decide on whether to wear a nude lip or a gold lip, but I ended up wearing a nude lip.
Shirt is from Macy’s.
You know we can get so creative trying to capture that perfect shot right! I forget who it was, but I even saw someone on IG using their cat as a background fixture to do a makeup flat lay pic lol.
I won’t go that route but I will use these use images from this multi image paper pads I purchased from Michael’s & Hobby Lobby. I was introduced to this by a YouTuber Bianca Andress, she will have you in these stores looking cray cray for the cute items she finds. Needless to say she had me in up them stores. She found hers in Micheal’s but I found some really cute paper pad themes in Hobby Lobby also, I caught them on a 50% off sale (which is still he current sale–I was in there today 😂🤣).
All the rest are from Hobby Lobby $19.99 (50% off)
I tell you I’m a sucker for anything with the patterns of lips, hearts, hearts w/ stripes, lipsticks or leopard print. I think I’ll be using these paper pads for a while, there’s a glitter themed pad I want to go back to get. There’s just too many pages for me to show you every image you’ll get, so that means I’m sending you into them stores to check these out in person. I can’t seem to pick which store has the better themes. If you go, let me know!!
Here’s a page I used the other day for a polish flat lay pic.
What are some of your favorite patterns? What do you use for your flat lay pics?

Hey y’all remember me?! lol I know I’ve been ghost around here but I haven’t let you go (nor will I soon).
Truth be told I haven’t been buying makeup like that, I’ve been really good believe it or not. So with that being said, I rewarded my good behavior of not buying makeup with makeup lol!
If you remember, a few months back there was another Woman Woman makeup release sold at Walgreens. I actually didn’t pick any of it up UNTIL they went on clearance. With the upcoming release of the Wonder Woman movie, these products are showing up in Walgreens for all of us Wonder Woman fans. I raise my hand in attest to growing up watching the show and wanting those bracelets that block bullets didn’t you? Linda Carter was one of those women who made being tough look good besides Foxy Brown!!
Products in this collection consists of:
- Lip Tints
- Eyeshadow Palettes (2)
- Lip gloss (3)
- Lipsticks (3)
- WW designed makeup pouches
Here are the items I purchased
L to R: Athena’s Kiss, Mighty Aphrodite, Wonder Woman.
These are not matte, they feel smooth and creamy–very pigmented also.
Top: Amazonian Red
Middle: Modern Age
Should you spot these in your Walgreens what items will you purchase?

So last weekend I realized that I’ve been overlooking my email from the CVS Beauty Rewards program, telling me that I have redeemable points. So with that and a 30% off coupon I decided to try these @fridakahlo lipsticks. I had been eyeing these and the nail polishes every time I saw there near the front register. I felt like because they weren’t a familiar brand I didn’t think I was up to shelling out $7 for a lipstick– a nonmatte lipstick at that y’all! You see the packaging right– iLove it!
So yeah like I said these are not matte lipsticks. The formula is sheer but creamy, feels like the likes of a moisturizing lipstick. They give off a semi-gloss finish as well. It transfer a lot (which you should expect with this type of finish).
You can hold out for your beauty rewards coupon, a 20-40% off coupon email or just go ahead and pay them $7, you got it stop playing lol.
Check out my swipe…..
Have you tried these lippies?
Yes it was that time again last weekend. If you missed it, you missed a good one. However, you can catch another one that’ll be coming to a city near you or in your city. Of course I attended the one that was in a city near and dear to me! I received my blogger press pass & made my way up in there!
I like the brands that participated this year, although I was disappointed that a few I hoped to see didn’t participate this year.
Use this link to my IG page to see a little slideshow featuring scenes from TMSO here.
Here are the items I received in my blogger bag
Some scenes from the floor
We started off TMSO hearing from the coolest down to the earth makeup artist James Vincent. He gave us a history of he started from the bottom now he’s here……
Here’s a swatch of a lippie I bought from Blot Beauty Cosmetics. I hadn’t heard of this brand until I saw their booth at TMSO. This color is called Sort.
