Way Back Wednesday #6- Nails Inc.

I hope y’all are as proud of my dedication to the WBW posts as I am, I’m excited to see how far I can go in my collection!

So in front of the camera lens is episode 5 which features some throwback polishes circa 2012! The first time I saw swatches of these polishes was by The Polishaholic (see post here). I didn’t really frequent Sephora at the time, I mostly bought my lacquer from drug stores. After I purchased all 4 I felt bad because they were a bit pricey ($9.50), but once tried the formula and like it; the results began to override my buyer’s remorse!

Do you remember (Michael Jackson voice)

My favorite shade is Topping Lane (pink one).

Thanks for reading and stay tuned to episode 6.

Way Back Wednesday #4- Duck

The winner for #4 episode of Way Back Wednesday is the spawn from a comical “reality” show Duck Dynasty. Say what you want but I enjoyed watching this show. The wit of the brothers, wives, parents and kids just put me in a happy place to see a family enjoying each other.

One day prancing through Walmart clearance aisle I spotted these polishes, never knew they even existed until that moment. I did know that they had other promotional items like cups and swamp themed placemats and such, but what a pleasant surprise to see polish! I was there for it!! These released back in 2014.

I like the glitter based formula, had zero problems with the application. If these polishes was just a trial run, they should have made more for a marathon. I hope my thoughts convey to you that I’d buy more if produced lol.

Did you see these in Walmart? Better yet, did you ever watch the show?

*please excuse the quality of this pic, in certain lights it came off as a black polish, this is natural light. I’m not fond of this one….it’s not an attractive color to me or on me!

Of course I have my favorites, who doesn’t?! I don’t like shimmer or metallic polishes that much but I wanted to swatch the whole collection. I am definitely a die hard creme, crelly or holo type of chica-lit lol!

Aforementioned these will be available at Polish Con this Saturday in Chicago. If you miss it then, you can still catch it online October 13 on the KBShimmer website Don’t Fall asleep on this collection!!

So what do you think? Have you “Fall”en in love with any of these? Lol.

Way Back Wednesday #1- Nicole by OPI

Today, here at Nailmatticbeauty I’m starting a series called “Way back Wednesday”, in memory of polishes that has stuck out to me in my memory bank from way back when…. I’ll be featuring polishes/collections that released a while ago that was popular or LE. Those were the days when I ran to every Walgreens, Kmart or Walmart looking for certain polishes JUST so that it can now collect dust in my stash lol (you laugh cause it’s true for you too).

Walk with me down memory lane while I reminisce on my nails’ wet dreams lol.

My first feature is the Nicole by OPI “Roughles” textured polish collection. These 4 colors released back in 2014, I actually didn’t like the textured polishes that much until these came out. I loved the fun Easter colored themes to them (which they did release around that holiday). I actually like these with or without top coat.

Did you purchase these? For me, I couldn’t wait to get my nails on these (or these on my nails rather lol). I ended up buying doubles of the pink & yellow color ANNNNDDDDD I got more of them when they went in Kmart’s clearance bin for $3 (they retailed for $7.99).

Don’t be shy, tell me…. Are these still in your stash?

I’ve created the hashtag #lacquerlivesmatter for all the way back lacquers in my collection. On WBW’s I’ll be searching the hashtag #lacquerlivesmatter to see your “way back lacquers”, so join in on the party. Tag me also, can’t wait to see them!!

Kiss Nail Polish from Dollar Tree

“I already have that color I don’t need it”-said no woman ever (especially not me) lol. When these polishes first released, I spotted them in Kmart. They were priced for more than $2 and I just wasn’t wow’d enough to swipe.

It was at Dollar Tree when I lost my memory lol. I saw these for a dollar and it made me holla!!

There isn’t anything unique about the colors but the formula is amazing, these can easily be one coaters.
Check out the colors I bought.

Aforementioned about the formula, it is excellent and dries to a glossy finish, I didn’t swatch these with a top coat. These could easily be one coaters. I did have a slight application problem with Fantasia & Sweet Angel being a little on the thick side, but waiting in between layers always helps–along with polish thinner.

Now I’m not one to tell you what to do buuuuuut go get you a few lol!

My Little Watermarble

Watermarble is my favorite sport!!

For this mani I used 3 polishes from the latest collaboration release from China Glaze. This collection features 12 polishes all dedicated to my childhood oops I meant My Little Pony. Yes I’m proud to say my childhood, I had all the My Little Pony toys my mom allowed herself to be coerced into buying lol. Sorry mom, I didn’t keep my promise of never wanting any other toy after that lol.

The colors I used below: L to R: Too Busy Being Awesome, Cute Mark The Spot, Sweet As Pinkie Pie.

These wm so beautifully I had absolutely no problems

If you haven’t purchased any of these polishes, you’re missing out a good mani and some good memories.

There’s also 2 LE sets that you can purchase on eBay, Sally’s and Ulta Beauty.

Have you purchased any polish from this collection? Which one(s)?

Influenster Oasis Voxbox

*sample, items were sent in exchange for my honest review*.

I swear I feel like I’ve made it y’all when Influenster sends me a email saying I’m in the next campaign lol! I get so excited to see what’s coming my way, I haven’t gotten one so far that I didn’t like. I love when I get full size products too y’all like yaaaaas I have arrived!!

So this Voxbox was filled with snacks & smell goods this time. Look what I got…

I’ve been sent the Vera Wang perfume samples before in another Voxbox and I enjoyed them. The scents are strong but feminine and they lasts good while. At work my coworkers said they knew I had left the bathroom because of my perfume (glad it wasn’t cause of a bad smell right lol).

When filling out the criteria list for this Voxbox I was crossing my fingers when choosing the foundation shade, in hopes I done good. The shade I chose is Tawny. This foundation is currently in drugstores so shout out to me for my price of FREE.99!!

Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir foundation

I’m still a little iffy about the shade, I’m going to do my best to make it work, however I think it’s not my shade. Stay tuned for a FOTD post.
The Welch’s fruit rolls and Aloha peanut butter bar I’ve had before and they’re a nice little snack you can enjoy at work (I did anyway).

The Eva•NYC Mane Magic smells sooooooo good and left my hair very moisturized. I received their products before and I enjoyed using their shampoo & conditioner.

So enough of me rambling about my Voxbox let me help you get with the program. If you’re not already a member of Influenster, you can join here. It’s best that you fill the profile out to the categories that most fit the products you’d like to receive. You should connect all your social media accounts so that you can complete the badges that will help you score more Voxboxes, thank me later!!

Thanks again Influenster 💋
